NeighborWorks America and its network of 240 local organizations have been at the forefront of efforts to preserve homeownership and sustain communities in the face of rising foreclosures. We are training more foreclosure counselors than ever before and we have formed strong alliances with private- and public sector partners to offer real solutions to homeowners facing foreclosure.

 

For residents of Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake counties, the Triangle United Way has an online service directory and a referral line which offer assistance with housing, financial problems, disaster relief services and other needs. To access the phone line, just dial 211.

 

For residents of Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Union Counties, United Way of Central Carolinas also offers an online service directory and referral line.  To access the phone line, dial 211.

 

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency operates an on-line resource guide that lists agencies across the state that offer housing assistance.


DHIC's Homeownership Center provides a homebuyer counseling and education program in Raleigh. DHIC's counselors help prepare future homeowners for the mortgage lending process, and for the responsibilities of owning and maintaining a home.
